Different concerns need different approaches.
Body-contouring concerns may involve localised fat, loose skin or changes in abdominal support. These are assessed separately so that the treatment matches the issue being discussed.
Options discussed at consultation
Liposuction and skin assessment
The consultation distinguishes localised fullness from skin excess. Removing fat and addressing loose skin are different treatment goals; the examination helps determine which approach is relevant.
Tummy tuck
Abdominoplasty addresses excess abdominal skin and, where appropriate, separation or weakness of the abdominal muscles. It is not a weight-loss procedure. Future weight changes and pregnancy plans are part of the assessment.
Arm lift
Brachioplasty addresses excess skin and contour in the upper arm. Discussing the position and extent of scars is an important part of deciding whether the trade-off is appropriate for you.
Thigh lift
Thigh lifting addresses skin excess and contour in the thighs. The plan depends on the distribution of loose skin and fat, and includes discussion of the required incisions.
Planning your procedure
Bring information about weight changes, previous operations, your health and the areas you wish to discuss. Requests for gynecomastia surgery or gluteal fat transfer are assessed separately, with their own procedure-specific discussion. Multiple treatment areas do not automatically belong in one operation.
Recovery and follow-up
A practical plan includes help at home, mobility, follow-up and time away from work or exercise. Ask which activities need to wait and how the team will review your recovery. Instructions are specific to the procedure and your medical assessment.
Risks and limitations
Body contouring cannot guarantee an exact shape or eliminate every skin irregularity. The consultation covers scarring, complications, recovery demands and alternatives before surgery is considered.
