An individual plan after pregnancy.
A mommy makeover describes an individual plan for selected changes after pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is not a fixed package, and the procedures discussed depend on your concerns, anatomy and medical assessment.
Options discussed at consultation
Breast concerns
Changes in breast volume, position and support are assessed together. Depending on the concern, the discussion may involve augmentation, lifting or another breast procedure.
Abdominal and body concerns
Loose abdominal skin, changes in abdominal support and localised fullness need separate assessment. A tummy tuck or selected body-contouring treatment may be discussed where appropriate.
Combined or staged treatment
The proposed procedures, health assessment and recovery demands help determine whether treatments belong together or should be separated. Combining procedures is not an automatic recommendation.
Planning your procedure
The consultation should include your pregnancy and breastfeeding history, future plans, weight changes, medications and the practical help available at home. Explain which concerns matter most to you so that the discussion remains focused on your own priorities.
Recovery and follow-up
Consider childcare, lifting, household support and time away from work when discussing recovery. Ask about follow-up and travel before making arrangements. The plan should describe who to contact and how your progress will be reviewed.
Risks and limitations
Surgery cannot promise a return to an exact previous body shape. Scar placement, possible complications and alternatives are discussed for every proposed procedure. A final plan follows medical assessment.
